Our goal is to preserve the Earth’s resources for future generations. Therefore, we strive to recycle what we can. However, the recycling process is expensive and limited. For example, paper and cardboard can only be recycled a maximum of seven times, and each time, fresh fibers (wood) must be added. As a result, millions of trees must be planted and cut down to produce more paper and cardboard. This often involves clearing natural forests to make way for fast-growing trees. Every ton of paper and cardboard requires about 20 trees and several tons of water, with thousands of liters being consumed (wasted). The issue is that we neither have the land to plant more trees nor the water to produce more paper and cardboard.
Given the extreme consumerism that has gripped humanity today, along with the factors mentioned above, it can be said that continuing this process of environmental destruction will result in nothing but the rapid depletion of the Earth’s primary and non-renewable resources, much sooner than expected.
I wish there was a way to produce paper and cardboard from sustainable sources with less harmful effects on the environment. Well, maybe there is. Imagine a mass of stone that, by itself, has little value. But if we crush them small enough, we can turn them into paper and cardboard. Sounds impossible? Well, actually, it’s no longer impossible!!!
Stone paper and cardboard are also known by other names, such as: lime paper and cardboard, calcium carbonate paper and cardboard, mineral paper and cardboard, etc. Stone paper and cardboard are composed of approximately 80% white calcium carbonate (crushed limestone) and 20% high-density PE or PP, which are non-toxic plastics used to bond the crushed stone particles together. It is a high-quality product suitable for various uses. Stone paper and cardboard are tear-resistant and excellent for making eco-friendly packaging or other items exposed to this element (such as food). Stone paper and cardboard are completely waterproof and oil-resistant, and no acid, bleach, or toxic substances are used in their production. They have excellent resistance to tearing and pests, and contain no industrial waste.
The carbon footprint (harmful greenhouse gases such as methane and carbon dioxide) in the production of stone paper and cardboard is 67% lower than that of cellulose paper and cardboard. Choosing 1,000 kilograms of stone paper and cardboard prevents the emission of 949 kilograms of CO₂, which is equivalent to a 5,000-kilometer (or 50-hour) trip in a car that uses fossil fuels.
Since stone paper and cardboard are primarily made from waste materials from stone mining, their raw materials are abundantly available in our beloved country. Stone mines in Iran produce millions of tons of crushed stone. Now, instead of polluting our environment, these wastes can be turned into raw materials for production. Furthermore, since stone paper and cardboard production requires no water, it frees up large amounts of our most valuable resource (water) for more important uses (such as food production in agriculture).

Additionally, stone paper and cardboard produce no waste and can be recycled repeatedly without degradation. Their raw materials are abundantly available in our country, with the highest quality and at the lowest price, which eliminates the competitive edge of rival countries. These advantages make them undeniably superior to cellulose paper and cardboard, and their use contributes to preserving natural resources and helping the environment. The very low cost of stone paper and cardboard production lines compared to similar cellulose paper and cardboard lines, along with the low cost of the final product, makes the use of this product highly justifiable, in addition to the aforementioned benefits.
